Cleanup workflow

Swipes and controls

Learn exactly what keep, delete, compress, undo, and full-screen viewing do.

Swipe actions and controls

KeepSwipe rightGreen heartLeaves the item unchanged and advances
DeleteSwipe leftRed XMarks the item for deletion and advances
CompressSwipe upPurple compression buttonQueues an eligible item for compression and advances

Keep does not modify the photo

“Keep” means “leave this asset in the library as it is.” It does not add the item to Favorites, move it to an album, duplicate it, or upload it.

Delete is a temporary mark until confirmation

A left swipe only adds the item to the current pass’s deletion list. The photo-library deletion call happens after review and confirmation.

Compression appears only for eligible items

The compression gesture, hint, and action button appear when the current item meets Pruune’s size threshold:

  • Photos: 5 MB or larger
  • Videos: 30 MB or larger

Undo

Undo brings back the most recently reviewed item and removes its temporary keep, delete, or compress decision. Pruune retains an undo window for the 50 most recent actions in a session.

Undo is for unconfirmed session decisions. It does not reverse a photo-library deletion or restore an original after compression has completed.

Full-screen viewing

Tap a card to inspect the current asset:

  • For a photo, tap again or swipe down to close.
  • For a video, use the video controls or swipe down to close. A close button is also available.

Videos in the swipe stack are prepared in the app’s temporary cache and autoplay muted when available. The full-screen viewer supports playback with sound and play/pause controls.

If Pruune cannot prepare a video for playback, it advances without deleting that video.

Haptic feedback

Pruune uses different haptic feedback for keep, delete, compress, undo, confirmations, warnings, and successful actions when the device supports haptics.
