Reviewing and confirming changes
Deletion review
Items marked for deletion appear in a four-column grid grouped by month.
On this screen:
- Every deletion is selected by default.
- Tap an item to restore it and remove it from the deletion set.
- Tap it again to select it for deletion.
- The header shows how many deletion items remain selected.
- The action button updates the estimated space to be freed.
- If every deletion is restored and nothing is queued for compression, choose All Restored! Keep Swiping.
Compression review
Items marked for compression appear in a separate To Compress section. Compression tiles are informational and are not individually toggled on the Review screen.
To change a compression decision, undo it before review or cancel the review and start the pass again.
Before compression begins, Pruune displays an additional warning that explains:
- The original will be permanently replaced.
- photo metadata such as location and camera information will be removed;
- Live Photo motion will be removed;
- the change cannot be undone in Pruune; and
- visual differences are usually intended to be minimal.
Canceling review
Choosing Cancel on the Review screen opens a confirmation:
- Keep reviewing returns to the current Review screen.
- Start over clears the current selections and starts a new swipe session.
“Trust My Swipes”
The Trust My Swipes setting skips the Review screen for delete-only sessions.
It does not bypass compression review. If anything is queued for compression, Pruune still shows the Review screen and compression warning.
System confirmation
The operating system may show its own photo-library deletion confirmation. Pruune cannot bypass that system-owned prompt.
Once the operating system applies deletion, recovery behavior is controlled by the device’s Photos app and operating-system version. Check the Photos app’s recovery or recently deleted area if you need to recover an item.
