Does a left swipe delete immediately?
No. It marks the item for the current session. Deletion happens only after the review/confirmation flow or, for a delete-only session, after confirmation through the configured trusted-swipes flow.
Does a right swipe favorite or organize the item?
No. It leaves the asset unchanged and advances to the next item.
Can I undo a swipe?
Yes, before the decision is confirmed. Use the Undo button to return to the most recent item. The session retains the 50 most recent actions for Undo.
Can I undo a completed deletion or compression in Pruune?
No. Pruune’s Undo controls only unconfirmed swipe decisions. For deletion recovery, check the system Photos app. A compressed original is replaced and cannot be restored by Pruune.
Does Pruune preserve metadata during compression?
No. The in-app compression warning states that metadata such as location and camera information is removed.
What happens to a Live Photo when compressed?
The photo is saved as a still JPEG result and Live Photo motion is removed.
Does Pruune upload my library?
The app has no Pruune media-upload service. Review and compression operate through local device APIs. An iCloud asset may be downloaded by the operating system when needed.
Does Pruune need an account?
No. There is no login or Pruune account in the current app.
Can I use Pruune without notifications?
Yes. Cleanup reminders are optional and do not affect photo review, deletion, or compression.
Can I browse one album and one date at the same time?
Not in the current interface. Choosing a date clears the album, and choosing an album clears the date.
Can I combine a date with a media type or Smart Pack?
Yes. Date selection can be combined with the effective media type of the current media filter or Smart Pack.
Does Pruune find duplicate or similar photos?
No. Similar Shots is currently labeled Soon. There is no active duplicate-detection or similar-photo grouping engine in this version.
Does the Live Photos pack compare the still and motion portions?
No separate still-versus-motion comparison is implemented in the current swipe card. The pack filters assets identified as Live Photos.
Is storage saved before I confirm?
No. The header’s “freed” value during swiping is the amount currently marked for deletion, not storage already reclaimed.
Why can “Photos” and “On Disk” show different sizes?
An Apple Photos asset can contain related resources, such as Live Photo motion or a retained original from an edit. Pruune shows both when the on-disk total is meaningfully larger.
Are compression savings guaranteed?
No. Pre-compression values are estimates. Pruune checks the actual output size and rejects results with negligible savings.
Is Pro compression truly unlimited?
Pro removes the free compression-credit limit. Device-safety limits still split or reject very large compression runs.
