Progress, recovery, and reminders
Session recovery
Pruune saves an in-progress swipe session locally after you begin making decisions.
The saved session includes:
- The current item position
- The current stack
- Keep, delete, and compress decisions
- Sort, media, Smart Pack, album, and date selections
- Review size
- Session start time
An active session can be restored for up to 48 hours.
On relaunch, Pruune may show Restoring your session… and return to the next item. You can choose Start fresh instead to clear the saved pass and load a new one.
Pruune discards the saved session when:
- it is more than 48 hours old;
- it contains no progress;
- its saved decisions no longer match the available photo stack;
- compression begins;
- a recap begins; or
- you explicitly start fresh.
Changing a browse source also starts a new pass and clears the current unconfirmed decisions.
Badges and progress
Open Menu → Badges to view the badge vault.
The vault includes:
- Collected count
- Overall completion percentage
- Progress by category
- A suggested next unlock
- Progress bars for started badges
- Detail pages for individual badges
Current badge progress is stored on the device.

“Favorite Keeper” does not mean Pruune favorites an item. It recognizes when an item you keep was already a favorite.
Cleanup reminders
Cleanup reminders are optional local notifications.
Pruune first offers reminders after a completed session. You can also change them in Menu → Settings → Reminders.
When enabled, the current reminder system can schedule:
- A weekly Sunday reminder at 7:00 p.m.
- A cleanup follow-up five days after a completed session, at 7:00 p.m.
- A next-evening streak reminder when the current streak is active
- A 24-hour incomplete-session reminder when at least 20 items remain in the pass
Times use the device’s local time.
Pruune avoids placing multiple one-off reminders on the same day. The weekly Sunday reminder takes priority over one-off reminders for that day.
Tapping a Pruune cleanup reminder returns to cleanup. If a valid active session exists, Pruune restores it; otherwise, it starts from the beginning of a fresh pass.
The app requests alert permission only when reminders are enabled. It does not request notification sound or badge permission in the current implementation.
Turning reminders off cancels Pruune’s scheduled weekly, cleanup, streak, and incomplete-session notifications.
If operating-system notification permission has been revoked, Pruune disables its reminder state and directs you to system Settings when you try to enable reminders again.
