Browse and Smart Packs

Build focused review stacks by date, album, media type, size, or cleanup opportunity.

Browse, filters, and Smart Packs

Open the top-left menu and choose Browse. Browse selections are staged until you choose Apply & Start Swiping.

Closing Browse without applying leaves the current stack unchanged.

Applying a different browse source starts a new pass and clears the current pass’s unconfirmed swipe decisions.

Browse by date

Week

The week browser shows the current week by default and lets you move backward through earlier weeks. Select a day to build a stack from that date.

Future dates are disabled.

On This Day

On This Day looks for assets from the same month and day across the previous 10 years. The current year is not included in this memory query.

Month

The month browser lets you move through the current and earlier years. Future months are not shown.

Select the active month again to clear the month filter.

Browse by album

Choose All Photos or one of the albums returned by the device photo library.

Album and date browsing are mutually exclusive in the current interface:

  • Selecting a date clears the selected album.
  • Selecting an album clears the selected date.

Media types

Available media filters are:

  • All
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Screenshots

The counts shown in Browse come from the device photo library.

Selecting a media filter clears an active Smart Pack. Pressing the already-selected media filter returns the selection to All.

Sort order

Available sort options are:

  • Newest — newest creation time first
  • Oldest — oldest creation time first
  • Biggest — size-aware ordering, largest first within the fetched session set
  • Random — selects a random area of the library and shuffles the resulting session set

Random chooses a new offset and shuffled order when that sort mode is newly applied.

Smart Packs

Smart Packs narrow the stack to a specific cleanup opportunity.

Smart PackAvailabilityConfirmed behavior

ScreenshotsFreeLoads photos the system identifies with the screenshot subtype
Old ScreenshotsFreeLoads screenshots created more than 90 days ago, with oldest first
Live PhotosPruune ProLoads photos the system identifies with the Live Photo subtype

Opening Largest Videos first displays a safety explanation about the eight-video and 4 GB compression-pass limits. You can still keep and delete normally in that pack.

The current Live Photos pack filters Live Photo assets, but the swipe card does not provide a separate motion-preview experience. Treat it as a filtered review pass, not a still-versus-motion comparison tool.

Similar Shots appears in Browse with a Soon label. Similar-photo grouping and duplicate detection are not current features.

Active filter chips

The swipe screen shows chips for active date, media, and Smart Pack filters. Use the X on a chip to clear that filter.
